With the increasing technology and population environmental damage of fossil fuel based energy production technologies has been reaching
critical level. For this reason, studies are implementing for environmentally less harmful alternative energy sources. Fuel cells as a possible
major energy carrier for the future, offers higher efficiencies and significantly lower emissions than conventional technologies. Their efficiency
isn’t limited to Carnot cycle. They also operate quietly and have a modular construction that is easily scalable. These features makes fuel cells
attractive for a large range of potential application areas. This paper presents a comparative overview of fuel cell technology.
