Abstract

This study was carried out to evaluate the grain yield and some quality characteristics of some bread wheat cultivars in Eskişehir conditions and to contribute to the production and breeding studies of promising cultivars by determining their stability. The study was carried out in the dry conditions of Eskişehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Agriculture in 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 production seasons. In the study, 10 different bread wheat genotypes (Dağdaş-94, Ekiz, Mızrak, Gökhan, Kenanbey, Konya 2002, Selçuklu, Seval, Gün-91, Uzunyayla) were used as material. Plant height, spike length, spikelet number, grain number per spike, grain weight per spike, yield, hectoliter weight, thousand grain weight and harvest index values were investigated. According to the results of the biplot analysis, it was determined that the cultivars were more stable in terms of yield harvest index, hectoliter weight, number of spikelets, spike weight and thousand grain weight. While Ekiz and Uzunyayla genotypes were stable in terms of all the examined traits even under bad conditions, Seval genotype was determined as the most ideal cultivar as it was both stable and high performance.
